With GroupOS, you get full control over who sees what in your community. That means you can restrict access to documents and videos based on membership tiers, making sure every member gets content that matches the value of their plan. ✨

It’s an easy, effective way to protect your content and deliver a tailored experience to your members.

Before you start, make sure you've already set up your Membership Tiers (if you haven’t, check out our guide on how to do that).

Once that’s ready, let’s dive in:

1. Apply Rules to Documents

  • Log in to your Community Admin Panel.

  • Head over to the “Docs” module.

  • Click “Add Document” in the top-right corner.

  • Upload your document file.

  • Give it a clear and catchy File Name.

  • Choose a Content Type and Category – this helps members find it easily later!

  • Now, let’s Set Access Rules:

    • Click on “Rules”

    • Select “Restricted”

    • Go to “Select Plan”

    • Choose the Membership Plan(s) that should have access

📝 Editing an existing doc?
Click the little pencil icon ✏️ next to the file, scroll down to Rules, and follow the same steps above.

2. Apply Rules to Videos

  • Log in to your Community Admin Panel.

  • Go to the “Videos” module.

  • Click “Add Video” at the top right.

  • Upload your video file.

  • Give your video a Title that says what it’s all about.

  • Add a short Description (so members know why it’s awesome).

  • Choose or add a Category for easy filtering.

  • Then set the Access Rules:

    • Click on “Rules”

    • Select “Restricted”

    • Go to “Select Plan”

    • Pick the Membership Plan(s) that should have access

🎬 Already uploaded the video?
Click the pencil icon ✏️, scroll down to the Rules section, and set things up just like above.
